Title: Poll Book Query
Post by: davisd on Thursday 25 January 24 17:58 GMT (UK)
I am researching a man, Tom, who was married in London about 1780. I can't find a baptism for him there, however one popped up in Bedfordshire (Dunstable). However unlikely I decided to look further. My fellow had his banns announced on the same day as another man George Christmas and my man Tom signed as a witness on that document. So why the connection? It seems a George Christmas was baptised the same year in Dunstable.

My question is really about the poll book from Bucks, that lists a George Christmas (he had a brother William the father of young George.

Con someone explain why a poll book from Bucks lists someone as living (?) in Dunstable. Here's a clip of the book.

Maybe living in one place and owning property in the other.
