7271.... This is obviously an MP or someone who knows about an existing will (perhaps hidden with an unknown number of copies) that could put them out of business or a home.
Many years ago, the BBC had a program that used old wills to find the rightful owner. Lol..., remember one elderly lady suddenly inherited the equivalent of a tennis court, bang in the middle of Paris. :)

May I suggest you re-post this with title "Please sign this petition..." which may cause a few more people to look, out of curiosity. If every Rootschatterer responded...

May I gently remind members who are particularly troubled by this proposal that signing the petition is only one way of expressing your disapproval. You can also respond to the Ministry of Justice Consultation (https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/storage-and-retention-of-original-will-documents) and of course you can tell your local MP what you think of it. Since it's an election year, I suspect MPs will be more likely to take their constituents' concerns more seriously.
-
Please note that anyone, anywhere in the world and of any nationality, can respond to the Consultation (unlike the Petition, which is for British citizens and UK residents only).
