Title: Edward Davidson mystery
Post by: ryan37 on Thursday 18 January 24 09:47 GMT (UK)
Hi folks I have just found a birth of another member of a family I’m researching

Edward Davidson was born on 2nd aug 1923 , at boddam , Peterhead,
Aberdeenshire

He had a few siblings ,

Including Alexander which I posted a few weeks back about ,

Other siblings include , Nellie , AnnaBella , William and James

John Fraser Davidson was also a sibling of Edward

, apparently John was very badly hurt in the war ?

John was known to have a son named Edward too that apparently tragically fell from a cliff and died ?

Can anyone help me find what happened to Edward born in 1923

I hope this is allowed as he would be over 100 years if he’s still alive

Thanks

Ryan

You haven't given any parental details - in particular his mothers maiden name

Have you looked for a marriage/death for him on Scotlands People?  There is a death in 1973 aged 50

If Edward died in Scotland there is only one death with no middle name but no mothers maiden name,
There are three others with a middle name and mmn, none Simpson.

DAVIDSON   EDWARD   1923   BODDAM

DAVIDSON   EDWARD   50   1973   742 / 126   CANONGATE AND PORTOBELLO

As post by Carole.

John Fraser Davidson died 1981 - see www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

Have you looked on SP for the other death??  I had no difficulty finding William Simpson Davidson's death

How do you know he died in Rosskeen if you cannot find a death entry?

I don’t know but there is an entry which I thought was him but I’m sure it’s not

And you said you had no problem to find it ?

Thanks for you for your help

Have you purchased any of the certificates to prove one way or the other?

No but if you look
At the other births , there is more than one for 1915.1916,

I have found a newspaper cutting that mentions the death in 1978 rosskeen ,
The fathers middle name is wrong and I don’t think there was a brother Charles

I believe this is the wrong family but the mothers maiden name is the same
