Hi everyone. Looking for Peter Bamber son of Joseph and Mary and brother of Mary Ann. Family rumours say he died fairly young and was buried in St James cemetary which is in the grounds of liverpool Anglican Cathedral. However some years ago they landscaped the cemetery and a lot of the original older gravestones went missing. He appears in 1851 census lipping in Rathbone street liverpool but disappears after that
Can anyone help please
Cheers Brian Johno

Do you have the correct census date in your post? Joseph and Mary Bamber christen a Peter in 1857, so can't be on the 1851 census. he appears to be with relatives in 1861
-
Thanks. maybe wrong date might be 1861. Is he in Rathbone street liverpool with his sister Mary. Cheers johno

In 1871 there is a Peter BAMBER aged 13 an inmate in the Industrial Ragged School in Everton Terrace Liverpool
.

N0 - 1861 Peter is with his uncle and aunt William and Catherine Bamber in Everton. He appears to live into adulthood. Parents on his baptism are Joseph, a porter, and Mary of Everton
Mary Ann Bamber baptised October 1846, daughter of Joseph Bamber (coachman) & Mary of Rathbone St.
In 1851 they appear to be lodging in Knight St with the Jones family. No Peter with them.
Mary Ann's birth registration suggest mother's maiden name is Pricket
Mother's maiden name for Peter's birth is Heaton. I also note Mary is 42 in 1851, so another child in 1857, whilst not impossible, seems a bit unlikely
Joseph and Mary are lodging in Rathbone St in 1841 with another son John b 1837

Thanks everyone. Mabel, that's correct in names and adresses and dates of christenings we have researched. Prickett was the maiden name of Josephs wife. Married 1831. Strange to have a different name on John's certificate Does John appear in later census alongside his family.
Thanks very much foy your time.
Cheers

We don't know John's mother's maiden name as he's born too early for birth registration. He's with Joseph and Mary in 1841. Baptised twice - 10 and 28 November 1832 in different churches. Father is a coachman
Added: it's Peter who has the different mother's maiden name
Possible burial - I wonder if family stories have got mixed up, given the location
John Bamber
Age 18
Burial Date 3 Nov 1850 St James Cemetery, Liverpool
Address Rathbone St
I believe John and Mary are clearly siblings. Not so sure about Peter. None of them are seen together

There's also a Joseph Bamber buried in that cemetery in 1852, aged 47. Slightly older than Joseph on the previous censuses

I don’t think that Peter Bamber is related to the Joseph Bamber and Mary Prickett family.
As has been pointed out, his mother’s name is Heaton.
There is a James Bamber b 1854 mmn Heaton and Joseph 1852 mmn Heaton.
1861 2710 /120/39
Everton
Joseph Bamber 37yrs b Little Eccleston
Joseph 8 yrs
James 6 yrs
Lodging with a Crone family
As mentioned already, Peter Bamber 4 yrs is with William and Catherine Bamber.
William is also born Little Eccleston.
