Hi folks
As part of my research, I have used ancestry, scotlands people, and various Irish based sites.
I have located birth certs, baptism certs, marriage and death info. I have census records in both Scotland and Ireland, as well as old parish records from Ireland. I have also exhausted poor law records.
I'm looking for suggestions of any other records that I could look at to find out anything else about my family in Lanarkshire, Scotland from 1870 onwards. They lived initially in Airdrie area, the out to Caldercruix, Longriggend and then Mossend/Bellshill.
I was wondering if anyone knew of any other source that I may not have thought of to find more info.
Best wishes.

I often find newspaper articles contain valuable/interesting information. Not just family notices, but ads, snippets of news, court cases etc.

Thank you for the suggestion. Is there a particular source you use for these articles? Is there a particular site, etc, best for Lanarkshire articles?
Or would I locate said newspapers at a library, etc?

The British Newspaper Archive https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/

There are a number of sites where you can access newspapers - subscription (or pay per view) such as findmypast, BNA (as Forfarian says), newspapers.com.
There are also some free to view - I often use British Library Newspapers which I access through the Gale Primary Sources database available as an eresource from my Australian National Library card - many libraries have similar access arrangements.

I found information on my Weir's from Airdrie in Scottish wills and Testaments and bankruptcy notice in the Edinburgh Gazette and the London Gazette 1870 to 1876.
