Hello,
I've just realised that the parents of James Bussey on my tree may not be the correct ones.
His birth was around 1801-1807 (based on dates given) and in Heacham, Norfolk. For some reason I've had his baptism as the one in 1805, parents: William Bussey and Sarah Clarke, however there is another one in 1801, with parents: Thomas and Anne Newman.
Is anyone able to find any information that can prove either baptism?
Thanks for any help :)
(He is the James Bussey who marries Mary Coe)
-
Presumably he married before 1837??
EDIT
Married 1824 - 1851 census shows birthyear 1802
-
Were both baptisms in Heacham?

If you look at his death in 1885 he was 84 so is more likely to be the 1801 christening - parents Thomas & Anne nee Newman
If he was born 1805 - he would have been 17 in 1824 when he married Ann Coe
Anne was 49 in 1851

A Thomas Bussey was a witness on the marriage certificate

Hi
One of the witnesses at James Bussey and Mary Coe's marriage is Thomas Bussey. He is not the father because Thomas who married Ann Newman signed with a cross but could be the brother.
William and Sarah Clarke don't seem to have any Thomass in the family.
