I wasnt sure what country to put this post in!
I have a Mary Catherine SMITH who(on her marriage certificate) stated that her parents were John SMITH (soldier) and Eliza O’Neill.
Marriage occurred 1890 in Auckland, New Zealand.
She also states that she was born in Perth, Australia (c1863) but on her death certificate it says England(although I know that death certificates are the least reliable of the certificates).
On Mary Catherine’s son’s military records it says she was born in New Zealand.
I have searched but Mary Catherine or Catherine Mary doesn’t appear.
I haven’t found any further mention of her parents.
Does anyone have any tips advice?

Looks to me the Family was in Channel Islands in 1871 at least.
