Hi could anyone look up the marriage of John Ellis and Rhoda Oberry in Aldridge 1818? Think my card has been frozen again >:(
-
Married 1st October, 1818, St Mary the Virgin, Aldridge
-
Rhoda is of the Parish of Walsale and a Widow.
I read original as "Walsale" - think it is "Walsall".
-
A marriage licence for a John Oberry and a Rhoda Meeson, both of Walsall and both of age "21 and upwards" was issued 18 Nov 1804.
-
FindMyPast has a transcript only (brief) of a marriage on 19th November 1804, Walsall.
-
Thanks, is the marriage of John and Rhoda signed by anyone as witness in 1818?
-
As mentioned the FindMyPast marriage entry is a " ... transcript only (brief) ...". The info you are seeking not present on transcript.
Spotted 3 baptisms (Independent) to John and Rhoda at Walsall until 1813 - cannot spot a John Robery (or similar) death 'twixt 1813 and 18182.
Added - you can find the witnesses at Freereg
-
I was hoping the marriage lf John and Rhoda would have a witness sig
-
John Ellis that is, not John Oberry
-
John Ellis that is, not John Oberry
I was checking for the death of John Obery that rendered Rhoda a widow and led to the John Ellis marriage.
