Good afternoon,
I am hoping someone can help. I am looking at my family history at the moment and I am now stuck.
I am looking for a John Rollo born 1902 in Fraserburgh. His parents are mary fraser rollo née Anderson and John Rollo both married in 1900.
The story of the child John is sad. I have his birth certificate from 1902 and he is alive and aged about 5 in a 1906 newspaper article after his parents were charged with neglect in peterhead. I have managed to find his sisters in census documents for 1911 and 1921 and they are noted as living with their grandmother joan anderson (ogston) but John has vanished no death cert, no marriage, no census. Is anyone able point me in s direction that might help me locate him. He is born, and named in a 1906 article along with his sisters but vanishes after 1906.
Thank you

Welcome to RootsChat :D
Can you provide his exact date of birth?
There are service records for a John Rollo whose date of birth is given as 30.6.1902. Place of birth is Fraserburgh.
His occupation is given as Baker, no marriage noted, next of kin (father) given as Mr. J. Rollo, address is 71 Charlotte Street, Aberdeen.
I haven't gone through the record but you can find it on Find My Past. Part of the British Royal Air Force, Airmen's Service Records 1912-1939.

Ack! :P :-[ :-\ So sorry Rosie, I looked up at the previous reply & realized I'd credited the wrong person & modified it right away. ( Was certain it went through) I'll have to pay better attention but I'm getting older, not so much wiser!
