Hi.
My GGGrandmother Alice Blomfield was born in Syleham/Scole in Feb 1859.
Father George Blomfield, Mother Eliza Flatman.
There does not appear to be a marriage between them, although Eliza may have married Christopher Blomfield in 1851 (GRO cert on its way).
There is a Baptism in Feb 1859 for an Alice Blomfield, but the parents are said to be Henry and Mary?
To lose one parent... to lose both...
Can anyone assist please?
Thanks in advance - Terry
p.s. we have considered Christopher dying and George "taking over", but we can't find a death for him.

1861 census in Syleham with parents George & Eliza.

Eliza is old enough to have been previously married so marriage may not be as Flatman.

I don't think Christopher married Eliza Flatman
Christopher Blomfield, (father Stephen Blomfield)

there's a marriage on FreeBMD in Q4 1855 in Hoxne district for a George Blomfield - possible spouse Eliza Flatt

Eliza gives her place of birth as Thorpe Abbots, Norfolk and her mother, Harriet, is living with them in 1861. Harriet is aging well!

Thanks for the reply.
They appear in the 1871 census down in Surrey and then vanish except for Alice's Wedding to William Dansey.
There are a couple of Eliza Deaths back in Suffolk that may be hers but I'll try workig that out later.

Thanks Mabel.
The Flatman family is a bit more straightforward, and I think that the Blomfield family will be as well after we get past George's possible marriage/arrangement.

As to George's Death, he was alive in the 1871 census, and not showing as deceased in Alice's Marriage cert in 1876.
Thanks all for your help.

That does look likely - somehow Flatman turns into Flatt!

Possibly that is down to the hearing of the Parish Clerk Mabel?
