Title: Ghost Signs
Post by: klewis on Friday 27 October 23 14:56 BST (UK)
Historic England are asking people to share images and stories about 'Ghost Signs' this weekend. Ghost Signs are 'historic hand-painted advertising signs, or old shop signs preserved on buildings which have since changed use'.

That is interesting - I must keep it in mind. Oddly, at a recent talk I attended the subject of the local dairy business came up. Some of us said that their name could still be read on a wall in town, but on checking I found it had quite recently been painted over.
