Title: Tips for finding lost ancestor
Post by: Kerrill on Friday 20 October 23 13:32 BST (UK)
Hi everyone,
I am going to try and find a ancestor who went missing around 1970 but have very little to go on,  I understand that he has passed on by now but would love to know where he ended his days or if he ever married, this is all the info I have on him and would be very grateful for any tips or ideas on tracking him down.......  Name Thomas Mitchell born 1930 in Galway Ireland his last whereabouts was 43 Bewsey Street Warrington Lancashire, he left this address in or around 1970 when his uncle passed away who owned the house where he lived,it was rumoured at the time he was going to Leeds but nothing concrete on that info. Have been told he had several jobs but never stayed in one employment for long but was well educated, apart from his picture that is all I have .

Deaths Mar Q 1982
MITCHELL THOMAS    DOB 20 MR 1930    LEEDS    5   474

Possible Marriage Sep Q 1972  Leeds

If that's the correct death registration then this could be the corresponding death / burial,

www.findagrave.com/memorial/226749477

The possible marriage in 1972 was to a Christine M Edmonds. The death of a Christine Mitchell (born 25 Dec 1931) was registered in Leeds in April 1993. The probate index shows a Christine Mitchell of Skelton Cres., Leeds died 8 April 1993.
