Hello! I would be very grateful if anyone is able to help decipher my x5 great-grandfather's will from 1852 - I can read some of it but I seem to be struggling a bit with the handwriting.

I've done the first half.  I'll finish it tomorrow if someone else doesn't do so before then.

I William Minchin of No 16 Crimscot Street Grange Road

Bermondsey in the County of Surry and the parish of St Mary Magdalen

do make this my last Will and Testament ffirst I give my body to be

interred in the Parish Church of St James's Bermondsey in the County

of Surry in hopes of a joyful resurrection through Jesus Christ I give and

bequeath to my three grand children Mary Ann Minchin ffrancis Virgo

Minchin and Catherine B Minchin the sum of twenty pounds each to be

drawn out and distributed between the three when Catherine B

Minchin is of the age of twenty one years and if either of them should

die before that time it is to be equally divided among the surviving

ones the above money is deposited in the Bank of England in the 31/2 P(er) C(en)ts

annuities I also leave ten pounds for my funeral expences I also give and

bequeath to my worthy friend Willam Dight...

You should check the street name in line 2.  It could possibly be Crunscot.

Bank in the County of Surry I give Catherine B Minchin my Mahogany
Pembrooke Table & plaid Cover and the Remainder of the furniture in my
room I give to Mrs Jane Dight for her kind attention she has paid to me except
the historical picture over the Mantle piece which I give to William Dight I
appoint Charles Sucey(?) of Crimscot Street and William Dight of Crimscot Street to
be my Executors to see all properly done after my decease and for their
trouble I also leave them three pounds between them, my watch I give to my
grandson ffrancis Minchin Dated this twenty third day of April 1838.  Wm
Minchin.  Signed by the said William Minchin in the presence of
Danl Davies, Geo Davies 21 Warwick Street Regent Street


The executor's name could be Charles Lucey?

Note the scribe uses a lots of fill-in squiggles at the ends of several lines to ensue nothing an be added.

I agree with Lucey.

I also agree Charles Lucey: as I can't find a capital letter to compare the ' L' of a known word staring 'L' but known words statring 'S' the bottom swirl does not cross over the angled down line as the 'L' does though the 'S' and 'L' are very similar. :-\  ::)
