Title: Italian Town Name?
Post by: RanneFraser on Wednesday 04 October 23 14:31 BST (UK)
Can anyone make out this town name? This family has consistently been from Orsogna so it was surprising to see anything else in a record. #100 Niccolo d'Angelo, son of Domenico and Cecilia.

Almost every other page in that volume has an entry with the same place of birth/abode.  I was wondering if it was something like "this Commune" (questo Comune).

I had definitely considered 'this commune' before, but was thrown off by them including a street name. Now rereading it, the street name is his current address in Orsogna so you're probably correct. Maybe they just didn't know where he was born so simplified it by saying 'this commune'. Thanks so much! I think i just needed a second opinion :)
