Title: Need help deciphering the last line.

Greetings everyone.

This is the end of a letter written to my grandfather in July 1909. I cannot work out the last line. The screenshot starts at the words "you'll see" but I've given the whole paragraph for context. I'm not sure that the number of gaps for words is correct. All help gratefully received.

Last Saturday I enjoyed a good rough football match between Melbourne V Richmond. Melbourne won by 12 goals to two. The Richmond players made things rough & four of them were reported by the umpire. I am sending the Weekly Times & you’ll see all up of it & also, I expect, a friendly meeting between Messrs Williams & P Felix. Time’s up. Heaps of love (kind?) ______ against which _____ _____.

I am fairly sure of the 'kind regards' but the next words not so much

Kind regards to Messrs Wilson, (Tron??_)    Not at all sure about last word but presumably another name.

That's fantastic.  Thank you! I will work on the second word. I think it might be a nickname for my grandfather whose name was Harold.

Don't think a nickname for your grandfather would fit would it - it doesn't fit with sending 'Kind Regards' to third and fourth people - does it??     - given that the letter is addressed TO him!  :-\

I think the last word could be the signature Mom (or Mum). The mark in front of it could be just an arrow pointing to the word “Love”. And the word before Wilson could be Missus or some spelling variation.

Hi Steve.

That's interesting. The first word you mention would be "mum" because they were English. I like the arrow pointing to the word "love". He and my great-grandmother had an incredibly strong love for each other as is borne out by the letters I have which they wrote to each other. I'll have a closer look at it.

I see:

"& you'll see an a/c [account] of it & also, I expect, no friendly meeting between Messrs M Williams & P Felix. Time's up. Heaps of love. Kind regards to Messrs Wilson & son." [The last, after "time's up, perhaps a little more rushed than the rest.]

Yes, McGroger, that looks good. He mentioned earlier in the letter that he was in a rush, so that ending fits in nicely.

All we see of the abbreviation for 'and' is a single vertical stroke.
Then I think the surname is Moss.
