Hello I am wondering if there are any historians out there or amatuer sleuths?. I have just discovered a 10th G Grandfather of mine . I know it is a long way back but he is still worthy of research i reckon. I don't have much on him really , hence I am on Rootschat . I know he was Born in 1597 in Cheshire , his Name Thomas Stanley . If anyone can fill me in on some social history about him I would be grateful and thank you all .

I'm not sure how much reliability to place on this website - everything I've found there has checked out, though:
