Mary Hembrough may have married Thomas Langfield but I cannot find any records – I have this from an ancestry tree, but no source information.
I have found records (parish register scans) for Mary Hembrough baptised Selby 1746.
Baptism for 5 children all Pontefract (1782 – 1789) father Thomas Langfield mother Mary – he was baptized Pontefract 6 May 1753
Burial of Thomas Langfield 24 Dec 1826 Selby age 73 – birth year 1753
Burial for Mary Langfield 10 July 1815 Selby age 70 - birth year 1745
It is this last entry which makes me think the marriage may be correct
I have explored the possibility of second, even third marriages, but with no success.
Any ideas please?

Hi Kath,
Although i am not related, i have found a Marriage in Selby, which has Banns date, but is a very poor faded record, here it is as i have found it:

Witnessed by Henri & Thomas Hilldrith & John Dikinson All signed.

Many thanks to you both. Classic example of not looking in the right places - Mary Todd was baptised in Selby the year after Mary Hembrough - even on the same page, but I missed it. I did have a note to follow this marriage up, so would probably have got there eventually.
Thanks again, Kath
