My ancestor, William Flook, b. 1804, Bristol - parents Daniel Flook b. 1783 and md. Susanna Millsom on 29 Aug 1802. There are supporting documents for this. Daniel has been connected to parents Aaron Flook and Hannah Pratten by some family histories? I don't believe that to be the case. Aaron and Hannah did have a son, Daniel, but his information is quite different for him to be my ancestor. Can anyone cast light on this?

Not sure who you think may be Daniel's parents but my take on this is as follows.
Baptised 24th May 1778 Stapleton, Glous, parents Isaac & Sarah-surname Flooke
Possible marriage 23rd July 1816 Bristol to Sarah Demmery (might be a 2nd marriage)
On 1841 census aged 60 with wife Sarah, his occupation Leather D***
On 1851 census aged 71(c1780) with wife Sarah, occupation Leather Seller
Died
FLOOK, DANIEL aged 77 (= c1778)

There is a burial for a Daniel Flook age 65 (bn c1778) in Stapleton in 8th January 1843, could he be the son of Isaac & Sarah :-\
-
Daniel was resident at Kingswood / Kingswood Hill on census records - The Law Chronicle 24th December 1818 mentions the dissolution of Partnership between a Daniel Flook and Moses Flook - Boot Shoe and Patten Makers of Kingswood Hill.
There is a baptism of a Moses Flook at Bitton 15th August 1785 - Father Aaron, Mother Hannah
ADDED
Moses Flook age 66 is living in Kingswood Hill in 1851 - birth place Bitton - occ Currier & Shoe Maker

Find A Grave has a photo of the grave of Daniel Flook died 12 October 1855
Inscription of the headstone reads
In memory of Hannah daughter of Daniel and Sarah Flook of the Parish of St. George who died 2 October 1827 age 19 months.
Also of Martha their daughter who died May 18th 1837 age 20.
Right hand side
In remembrance of the late Daniel Flook who died at Kingswood who died Friday October 12th 1855 aged 77 years.
Also of Sarah relict of the above who died November 30th 1862 aged 70 years.
Samuel Edwin son of Daniel and Sarah Flook jnr. who died 6th of March 1861 aged 1 year 5 months.
(a note has been added grandson of the above)
The family believes he first married Hester Flook 1802 then Sarah Demmery 1816 and that he was the son of Aaron and Hannah.

Moses Flook left a will with codicils. It was written 6 May 1854. Probate 1 August 1855
It's a PCC will on ancestry.
Paraphrased
He was of Kingswood Hill, Oldlands, parish of Bitten Gloucestershire, Currier and Leather Seller.
son Joseph
daughter Martha wife of Joseph Portroy?
daughter Mary wife of William Williams
daughter Hester - spinster.
Wills clarify who's who.

I know this is going the long way round, but a process of elimination and tying families together gets you there in the end.
Aaron Flook left a will written 7 April 1804 he was of the Hamlet of Oldlands in the parish of Bitten Gloucestershire. Coalminer.
Wife Hannah
sons Joseph, Aron, Daniel, Stephen, Benjamin, Moses and Abraham
daughters Susannah Jones and Hannah Flook.
Everything to Hannah in her widowhood, then to be divided equally amongst all his children.
Ancestry: Extracted from the Registry of the Bishop of Gloucester.
Proved 22 November 1827

Daniel Flook's will written 28 May 1849 was not at all helpful. Everything to his wife and her heirs.
no names mentioned.
(My notes this leaves out the children from his first wife)
Probate 30 January 1856 by Sarah the widow and relict, sole executor.
So this would be the one who married 2nd Sarah Demmery 23 July 1816 by Licence.
If the license survived it may have more information.
-
This one is enlightening.
Abraham Flook will proved 16 August 1834
To Daniel Flook of the parish St. George and Moses Flook of Oldland - cordwainers.
Wife Esther and children.
Last paragraphs says my brothers Daniel and Moses to be executors.
So the Daniel of St. George is a brother to Moses and Abraham.

Daniel and Susanna had the following children baptised in Bristol
William 1804
Daniel 1808
Samuel 1810
These boys are living next to each other in 1851
-
1841 census Saint George (ages rounded)
Susannah Flook 76
Phoebe 50
Sarah 15
William 38 - Gardner
Charlotte 44
William 10
Mary 7.
Phoebe is the daughter of Charles and Susannah she marries Joseph Maggs widower on 26 January 1856. He was 46 years old she was a spinster age 50 .
William is her son and his wife Charlotte nee Porter and their children William bap. 12 December 1830 possibly married Mary Clark 17 November 1856, and Mary Ann bap 23 Feb 1834 possible marriage to William Dyke 16 April 1871 both were 38 years old.
Not sure who the 15 year old Sarah is.
Susannah Flook dies 1849 age 86.

For the poster original question.
1841 census Kingswood, Saint George
Daniel 60 leather dealer
Sarah 45
Daniel 20
John 20
Harriet 15
Samuel 12
This is the Daniel son of Aaron with his 2nd wife Sarah nee Demmery married 23 July 1816 by license. Witness was Aaron Flook probably his brother.
William Flook was born 1804 son of Daniel - a coal miner and Susannah so this Daniel cannot be a son of Aaron.

amondg, must admit to having "lost the plot" with this post. Who do you believe are the parents of Daniel his father.

Working on it, there are so many families who all named their children the same names.
The wills posted show Daniel, Abraham and Moses are brothers, they are cordwainers or leather dealers and sons of Aaron who was a coal miner he actually owned the mine.
The following are the children of Aaron and Hannah/Ann found so far.
Stephen bap 11 October 1770 buried 20 December 1776
Susannah bap 13 December 1772 married ? Jones - will of Aaron
Joseph bap 13 November 1774 died 1849 - possible marriage to Dinah
Mary bap 30 June 1776 buried 29 December 1776 (9 days after brother Stephen)
Daniel circa 1778/1779 based on census age of 71 in 1851 and will of Aaron, he listed the male children in order of birth. (2nd wife Sarah Demmery)
Stephen bap 14 May 1780 he died December 1833
I found an article in the Gloucester Chronicle dated 7 December 1833, he was returning home from the Packet Office and was struck by a horse and carriage that did not stop, he managed to get home where he lingered for a few days before succumbing to his injuries.
Benjamin bap 15 July 1781 --
Moses bap 15 August 1784 died 1855
Abraham bap 2 February 1786 died 1833 married Esther per his will.
Isaac bap 15 April 1787 buried 5 February 1790
Jacob bap 20 July 1788 buried 4 March 1794
Hannah bap 24 October 1791 died 1806
Martha bap 17 March 1793 buried 13 October 1803.
ADDED Need to look for more wills local rather than PCC Wills.

Thanks to everyone for your responses to my question. Sorry to have delayed answering, but I was out of town unexpectedly. I was very mistaken in connecting my Daniel with the Aaron and Hannah line and I asked the moderator to remove that post. Here is some information I have on my Flook family in England that I hope will be helpful.
A Certified Copy of an Entry in Marriage for William Flook and Mary Clark gives their signatures as "X" their mark. The marriage took place in the Chapel of Stapleton Palace (Stapleton had been the Bishop's residence or "Palace") in the parish of Stapleton in the registration district of Clifton on November 17, 1856. Witnesses were William Fox and Mary Tiley and the document gives her signature as "X" 'his' mark.
1861 Census of England The Flook family lived at 71 Clay Hill. William Flook was a laborer/gardener, age 30, with wife Mary age 27, born Somerset and daughter, Eliza age 2 born St. George, Glouchester (from the 1861[page28 ED 10 SRD The Clifton RSD The Saint George Sub-District on GS5 42858] ) The daughter, Mary, did not appear on the census. The census is usually taken around that time in April in England. So, I would think she was born after the census was taken. There were other Flook families in the area. Researcher: Susan G. In 1881: William Flook was 50, Mary Flook, his wife was 45 Mary Perkins was 19 and living with her parents at Johnny Crows Lane 1 Cossens road, St. George, Bristol, Glouchester. George Flook (age 14), Thomas Flook (age 11), Frederick Flook (age 6),Elizabeth Flook (age 5) and Charlotte Flook (age 2) were also living with their parents at the same address. Mary Perkins first son, William Perkins, was in his first year of life in his Grandparent's house. William Flook was born in St. George. Mary Flook was born in Frome, Somerset. All their children and their one grandchild at that time were born in St. George. Many people list the wife of William Flook as Mary Ann Lake from a marriage entry in 1853. On examination, the entry includes Mary Ann Lake among others, but the William Flook (b. abt. 1833) marriage is actually to Sarah Poole and this William Flook is another person entirely . In the 1871 Wales Census William and Sarah are living in Wales. The William Flook who is our ancestor married Mary Clark 17th november 1856 at Stapleton Holy Trinity Church and they are shown as living in Bristol. Some people compound the error by mixing information on the families including children and burials.
