Looking for the 1881 census for Ann JAne Lambe married to George William Lambe i have a friend visiting from Australia and is looking for as much infomation he can find ont George and ann. Hope someone can help

Your post says the 1818 census you might want to change it not sure if this is the couple you are looking for as no birth years or place of birth mentioned
There is this on the 1881 Census
10,Thornhill bridge road Islington London
George Lambe born Wilton Whiltshire age 48 ( Hackney carriage driver )
Ann J Lambe born Limerick Ireland age 36
William Lambe born Islington age 11
Could this be them ?

You have George and Ann Jane's marriage?
If not, this took place in St Andrew, Barnsbury, Islington on 12 April 1875. George is showing as a widower, aged 42 and a Hackney carriage driver (as he did on the entry Rosie found for 1881).
His father is given as George Lambe, cabman, deceased.
Bride Ann Jane Cross, 27 and a spinster. Her father showing as Philip Cross, deceased and a miller by occupation.
So, son William who shows as aged 11 in 1881, was mother George's first wife?

Baptised 19 Feb 1882
Died in the 2nd Qrt 1882
George Philip Lambe, born 3rd Qrt 1883 in Islington (ref 1b/294)
Son, George, shows with father being admitted to the Islington workhouse on 30 Apr 1894 (St John's Road Workhouse Register, 1894). George Snr is listed as a widower.
George Snr died that year:
Age at Death 61
LAMBE, GEORGE WILLIAM
GRO Reference: 1894 D Quarter in ISLINGTON Volume 01B Page 148
His burial date is given as 17 December 1894 - www.deceasedonline.com

Hello My friend from Australia is thrilled and delighted with the information you have given him. He will be returning to Australia shortly and can't you for the help you have given him. He is so impressed with the kindness of people on here that he has joined Rootschat, he is very new to researching and he feels that he will get support on this site as he starts to develop his research skills.
He asked me if he could contact from Australia, i am not sure 100% but perhaps someone could tell me if this is possible.
He was wondering if there is any information an Ann Jane Cross and her father Philip Cross of Limerick. He thinks that the reason she came to England was because she had become pregnant and was still a spinster.

Ken, which of the two sons is your friend connected to? William or George Philip?
There are two well researched family trees for both if your friend could access these?

There is a great document of the research carried out on William b. 1871. A 13 pg document, including photos, with a comprehensive summary of sources. One of the best docs I have seen on a family tree on Ancestry. It can be found if you click on the 'Gallery' tab.
There looks to be outstanding questions on son William's birth and the birth and family details of George William Snr. George Snr's first marriage has not yet been determined.

This is Rod from Perth Australia a friend of Ken.
Thank you for helping me getting started on search of the past.
It has always intrigued me of stories and rumours past down the generations within the family.
The biggest question is we are not “Lambe” as we came from the oldest son George first born to Ann Jane Lambe née Cross was pregnant before marrying George Lambe therefore taking his name.
Question: did she become pregnant by George and then got married.
Or left Limerick Ireland carrying a child to the work house.
Then it’s a new trace and search who am I.
It is like a Novel with lots of mystery HaHa. I can only say thank you for starting this path of discovery for me. I do hope we can chat again when I return to Australia. I will be more than grateful if you are able to guide me through any difficulties I encounter.🤗😊

I got the sense that there was likely more to found in determining the eldest son, William's, origin.
I did search for a birth under Cross but nothing jumping out for him in London. Have you seen that research document I mentioned for him on the Ancestry tree (could well be your tree!)? Looks like the puzzle has been there all along. If you haven't seen it, it is certainly worth looking through as it shows all the things that have been checked to try to find his birth (similar problem finding George Snr's origins isn't there?).
I did search birth in Ireland for William but again nothing coming up.
