Hi
There used to be a website that had the transcriptions of monumental inscriptions of Westmorland churches. I have searched & searched and cannot find it. I have looked at the website in the resources section but many of the links are broken.
Does anyone know if such a site is still available?
Thanks
Gigi

I miss that too The site it was on was “north of the sands”
I think there was another post about it some years ago
It had a lot of info on the Memorial inscriptions especially as a lot of the stones are eroded now and not able to be read

You can still access the data via the Wayback Machine.
Here is the surnames list: https://web.archive.org/web/20160629221951/http://northofthesands.org.uk/westmoreland/surnames.html
(which is the archive of http://northofthesands.org.uk/westmoreland/surnames.html)
The links still work.

Belatedly :) You can also read all the inscriptions in "Westmorland church notes" by Edward Bellasis pub.1888 vol.I on the Haithi website https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=hvd.hn2v6p&seq=1
Volume II can be downloaded from the Internet Archive.
