Hi👋
Wondering if anyone has Nathan or Margaret in their tree
Born in Stapleton and yes both had Kennedy surname prior to their marriage
Margaret was my 4th Great Aunt and her Husband Nathan was my 2nd cousin 5x removed
Have parents but would appreciate any specific data either for Margaret, Nathan or their children William and David
May have had more children but this is all I have on file
Original Kennedy Ancestors born in Haltwhistle then were listed as ‘incomers’ to the district that the family settled in and where many resided for generations
Many thanks in advance of any replies
Appreciate anything whatsoever which may be connected to my Ancestry

William was bap. 20 August 1815 the same day they married - mother Margaret no father listed
could be assumed Nathan was the father.

You possibly have this already - they were married 20 Aug 1815 at St Mary Stapleton. Witnesses were Hugh and Ann KENNEDY.

David age 20 lodger Ag. Lab.
William age 25 also an Ag. Lab. Askerton (Abbey Lanercost)

Did have marriage data as well as parents for both Nathan and Margaret
Have extensive family data for Kennedy - Cumberland Branch - but cannot source death data or anything on the children

Have Nathan’s Parent William Kennedy and Mary Heward
Hugh Kennedy was brother of Nathan (witness at Marriage to Margaret)
Margaret’s parents were David Kennedy and Ann Gillespie
Not sure who Ann Kennedy links to but have several in my tree
David Kennedy did have a sister named Ann
Anything at all on this specific branch would be greatly appreciated

I have hundreds of individuals and many Tweddle in tree but not Nancy
Have several William Kennedy listed
Do you have his Father or Mother?

Did a quick check in my data regarding William Kennedy and have a William married to Mary Tweddle (Mally)
They married in 1809 (10 June)
Mary was the daughter of a Kennedy also
Mum Susannah Potts Kennedy and Father Joseph Tweddle (also shown as Tweedale)

Been checking Kennedy data and after having William Kennedy son of Simon Kennedy and Jane Forester as the spouse of Mary (Mally) Tweddle for many years I discovered yet another William Kennedy missed from original list of children for David Kennedy brother of Simon
David married Ann Gillespie/Gillespy
Noticed when checking data even though birth years are different for the two William Kennedy individuals some Ancestry researchers have added William son of David as being married to Mary Tweddle
On this basis and the fact the marriage date surfaced for a Nancy Tweddle I wondered if anyone had any positive data to clarify which William it was who married Mary Tweddle
William son of David born circa 1787 - Baptism 2 May 1787
William son of Simon born circa 1779 - Baptism 31 March 1779
It is possible that one of these William’s married Nancy
I think so due to birth year and marriage data
Could William 1779 been spouse of Nancy!
Confusion does not cover it
Any info greatly appreciated

You may also have to look for a ANN/E Tweddle
One of my GG Grandmothers was known as both Ann and Nancy.
If my theory is correct;
ANN Kennedy buried 26 Oct 1836 Stapleton, Wife of WILLIAM
(F/S.Org)
As to the 1838 Death you have;
KENNEDY, WILLIAM age 87
GRO Reference: 1838 J Quarter in CARLISLE Volume 25 Page 31
So born c 1751.
I bit old I think to marry 1803?

Have an Ann Tweddle married to Leonard Kennedy
Not came acrss Ann married to William so will research asap
But dates are much later than the William we are looking at
Marriage was 1803 between William and Nancy i am trying to link into ancestry line
Will have to follow up on your informarion

Yes,i had thought Nancy may have used a different name but was'nt sure if it was possible.
Your comment about age, Nancy was wife number 3.
You maybe right about the death in Stapelton is this a Town or Parish.

what are the names and baptism dates and places of all the children from the 3 marriages
could it be a 2nd marriage for Nancy Tweddle (ie tweddle might not be her maiden name)

Thanks and you may be 100% correct as I looked at all the data connected to William Kennedy and his three marriages plus his children which included Alexander born 1801 and the name Alexander Kennedy is not one that is repeated in my Stapleton line of Kennedy Ancestors although I do have Alexander Kennedy born 1885 who is a third cousin and Hugh Alexander Kennedy his son a 4th cousin
IGI website has a lot of data on Kennedy individuals but cannot source anything that connects William with spouses Jane Davison Jane Wilson and Nellie Tweddle to my direct line

Should have wrote NANCY Tweddle and not Nellie as being third spouse
