Does anyone know what the uniform of the fellow on the left is, please?
It could be Australian, maybe WW2-ish?
Sorry, it's not a great photo, and I don't have access to the original, just this scanned image.

It looks like Merchant Navy, they are wearing tropical whites.

It is Navy but not Merchant Navy. The man on the left is a petty officer stoker - tropical uniform. His cap badge also has the King's Crown, so is of that era.
