I am looking for the parents of Mary Webb who married Richard Hemmings in Cherington in 1676. I have found various Webb christenings in the area including in nearby Stratford on Avon and two wills of two Thomas Webbs (1580 and 1616) but no leads to my Mary. Any lead is appreciated.

Cherington, Warwickshire is close to the borders of Gloucestershire & Oxfordshire, all of the records in Warwickshire & Gloucestershire are quite distant but there are three in Oxfordshire, on family search around 20 miles away, the closest I could find. However during the civil war and beyond many records were destroyed. You may be aware that there is a Cherington in Gloucestershire, some sites may get them confused?

Yes, it would appear so. My more recent Attwood connection is through Sarah Attwood of Bishops Itchington who married my gtgtgtgrandfather Frederick Jones. If you would like to share/compare  information , I am happy to do so.

I've not found a lot but here's what I have.

There are Webbs in Cherington for the dates you want having children ,marrying and being buried so it is unlikely she came from elsewhere.The actual records 1600-1664 seem to be missing.

We have 3 marriages in the 1670's and 80's

Mary 1676 by licence to Richard Hemmings last child 1689
Anna 9 June 1681 at Barcheston but of Cherington to Jo Williams
Nicholas 15 April 1684 to Elizabeth Hancock by licence

So for me the 3 would be siblings

Earlier Nicholas Webb is married 22.8.1677 ,no wife given
children Anne 10.9.1669,Damaris 30.3.1673-1690 and Mary 10.6.1671

Burials Nicholas Webb 22.8.1677 ,doesn't sat if child or man so could be the Nicholas having children 1669-1671 or a child of his.
Walter Web 26.4.1669.

It looks like Nicholas was baptised Aug 1638 at Whichford son of Walter.
Siblings Marie 4 April 1624 of Stourton  ,Walter 4 March  1626 of Stourton ,John 20 Sep 1629 of Stourton ,Anne 24 Feb 1632 of Stourton ,Elizabeth and Richard October 1635

I'd expect there to be a connection to this family with either Nicholas or Walter being Mary's father.

1663 Walter Webb 3, then a gap to Thomas Web 1 and John Webb 1
1671 and 1673  Nicholas 1 and John 1

This seems to confirm Walter was the father of Nicholas and the older generation.
