Title: 1861 census Poynton area
Post by: jean Sandra on Friday 09 September 05 17:45 BST (UK)
Hi,

would it be possible for someone to look up Thomas Eccles aged about 76 in the 1861 census? I believe he died in 1864 aged 79.

In 1841 and 1851 he was a collier living in Green lane Poynton.

In 1851 he stated that he was born in Worth.

I would be very grateful for any help.

Regards

Jean Sandra

Hi keith,

this seems to be the guy. Many thanks.

Do you happen to know if it gives an address in Poynton and whether it states the occupation of Thomas?

Sorry to be a pain but do you have names of other occupants of the house where he was lodging?

I know you have done so much already and I'm very grateful.

The address is 1 Green Lane, Poynton and he was a Coalminer and widower.  He is living with the Brocklehurst family.
