Title: Soldier with real surname of ABBOT but served under surname COSTELLO
Post by: City Hall on Tuesday 22 August 23 11:48 BST (UK)
Hi, I was showing an American friend who works in the entertainment business around Glasnevin cemetery on Sunday and told him I had previously seen a WW1 ( I Think ) war memorial in Glasnevin where the first name on the memorial was Abbot but in brackets said the soldier served under the name COSTELLO. He was very keen to see it, but was even more keen to see Brendan Behan's headstone. It took a while to find the Behan grave, and to be honest, by then the lure of the Gravediggers Arms was too strong to resist!
Does anyone have a link to a website that contains a photo of this memorial?
Thanks.
Paul
