Hi All, I'm trying to trace the house details of my wife's grandparents who lived in 16 Willow Grove in Old Earswick(Earswick, Off Strensall Road) in York. Speaking with the planning office in York they say that the plans would have been held by the North Riding of Yorkshire planning authority and only the details they hold only go back to 1974. Can anyone offer advice or suggestion on how to obtain detail of the property.
Thanks
Rob

Are you looking for the actual internal & external design of the property?
-
Do you mean house history before 1974?

Yes, if they are available but the footprint would be great.

You haven't given any details of when they lived there or their names. When was the house built?
As far as getting any layout of the house - I doubt that would be possible.
If you want to find out who lived there before them - FindMyPast have the facility to search the various censuses by address - it's a subscription site.
You could start by using the 1939 register which is searchable by address.
There are also electoral registers which are searchable at the records office.

If you google the address you can see what is currently on this plot, and it’s sale history since 2001.

Top left corner, it’s the lane above ilford house.
Been developed a bit since then, without a date it’s hard to pin down but should give you an idea.
