The Doris Catherine Mitchell born in Cardiff in 1906 had a mother with maiden name Myers. So is this the right family?

Joseph Mitchell married either Elizabeth Ann Price or Annie Beatrice Myers so you may need to check your information

There is a death for a Joseph MITCHELL aged 45, registered at Cardiff (11a/262) Mar qtr 1910. A possibility for his death. (So born c1865).

I can see him in 1891 (aged 26, born St Austell, Cornwall) as a boarder in Cardiff.

This is possibly Annie MITCHELL in 1901 - with her mother Hariett in Roath. Though why the child is "Allan" I'm not sure - I would think this was "Joseph" born 1900 (in the 1911 census)

(in the above census - Winnie MAWDITT aged 15 - birth registration as Winifred Chichester MAWDITT Mar qtr 1886 Axminster mmn HAMMETT)

James MAWDITT married Hariett MYERS registered at Islington Dec qtr 1883 (1b/354)
Walter Chrimes MYERS married Harriett HAMMETT - Axminster Dec qtr 1869 (5b/25)

Annie Beatrice Hammett MYERS birth registered Kensington Jun qtr 1870 mmn HAMMETT

Hope that all makes sense. Still can't find Joseph MITCHELL though.

it would be good to know which of the family the op is interested in as she appears to have the wrong couple  ???

Yes, assuming the interest is through the daughter Doris C(K)atherine MITCHELL.

Btw, when looking at the parents of Annie Beatrice MITCHELL nee MYERS, I can only assume they divorced sometime between 1871 and 1876. I can see Annie in 1871 with her mother Hariett (and Hariett's mother-in-law and family). Harriet marries again in 1883, and Walter Chrimes MYERS marries again in 1876. Can't see any reference to a divorce in the newspapers though.

Modified to add:
Found it now, they divorced in 1881. He was a bigamist.  :o

found a possible marriage for Doris in 1931 to an Ebenezer Phillips, but can't see them in 1939, but sister Dorothy Phyllis born 11 Sep 1907 married Solomon Beggey in Cardiff in 1929 and is with her mother Annie B M Mitchell, widow, born 18 March 1870 at 37 Stafford Rd, Cardiff. Dorothy died in Cardiff in 1989. Death for Annie B H in Cardiff aged 80, Sept quarter 1950

Thanks for your help.
Can now confirm Annie is the wife of Joseph Mitchell.

I have a copy of a photo titled Joseph and Elizabeth Mitchell. I’m thinking this photo could be of Doris’s brother Joseph b. 1900 and his wife Elizabeth.
Any help with any additional info on him would be appreciated.  :)

Joseph Wilfred Allen Mitchell, mother Myers, born Oct-Dec 1899, Cardiff. Looks to have been in the merchant navy (photo on FindMyPast), birth given as 2 October 1899.

Added: married Kathleen E Hitchcock in Cardiff in 1926

His occpn is "Sailor" on the 1891 Census.

There's a Board of Trade enquiry in May 1901 in Cardiff into the loss of the steamship Portugalete and one of the witnesses was a crew member, "Joseph Mitchell, A.B."
Tracking the ship via newspaper sightings the Portugalete arrived in Penarth on 31st March from Rochefort. The Census was taken the night of the 31st March. If this is Elizabeth's husband, might account for his missing the 1901 Census?

Joseph W A MITCHELL death registerd Oct qtr 1967 East Glamorgan aged 68.

He appears on the 1921 census (I don't have a subscription, so can't see the details) in Cardiff.

Can't seem to find wife Kathleen on 1939 register. (Joseph W A was a merchant seaman.)
