Does anyone know if Ancestry UK offers this subscription at reduced price at any specific times of the year? I have been waiting since late last year, hoping for such an offer, and missed the only one I have seen, due to holidays, in May this year!
I am considering taking it out for a year, as i am now retired, so i can investigate more fully my Irish origin ancestors whe went to all parts of the new world in the 1800's! And of course, non irish ancestors too!
Thanks
Jane

Hi Sandra....I love your profile photo, we have sat on that seat at "Friar's Crag" Derwentwater in the Lake District many times. We go to Keswick every year in the caravan. There is a shop that sells Lake District canvases and we bought the one of "Friar's Crag" and we have it on our lounge wall, our version is slightly bigger and shows the knotted roots of the tree. :D

Yayee - Thank you for the update - love a success :)
Hi Carol,
Amazing how long you can stand waiting to get a photograph without people sitting on the seat :) :)

Oh you are right there...one year when we passed it, an elderly couple were on the bench having a picnic, on our way back, they were still there. We stood admiring the view hoping they would vacate the bench. They turned to us and said that they had spent every wedding anniversary on the bench as they had honeymooned in Keswick 50 years ago to the day. We took their photograph together on the bench and my OH told the man to give his wife a cuddle for the photo, he did too. ;D
