I would like to know more about Frank Penny (born 11 October 1899 in Kensington) who died aged 70 in 1969 in Kensington. I have a family letter from him to his sister Lucy Ann Locke (nee Penny) dated 9th November 1955. I have posted other information about his siblings elsewhere on RootsChat
I am interested as to where he was living, from UK census records, between 1955 until his death in 1969.
Thanks for any help.

What address is on the letter? Was he a single man - occupation?
You would need to look at electoral registers for address information.

On 9th November 1955 Frank Penny was living at 25 Allfarthing Lane, Wandsworth, London SW18. He was married, his wife died in1942 (forenames not known). Formerly a steel erector but because of bad health (gassed in WW1) he took a lighter job.

The latest census available is 1921.
After that there is only the 1939 National Register.
As Milliepede has said, you need to look for Electoral Rolls.

? UK Census Records there was only one in the period you want in 1961 which will be available in 2062 but you already Know where he was living in 1969 when he Died.
Milliepede suggestion is your only option

I've looked at the electoral registers
I can see Frank Penny from the 1949 register at 25 Allfarthing Lane, there are 8 people listed at no. 25 and I suspect the building was perhaps split into flats/rooms.
Apart from a couple of changes the same 8 people including Frank were still listed at 25 Allfarthing Lane each year till the register that is in force from Feb 1959 to Feb 1960 which has no number 25 Allfarthing Lane in the register. It goes straight from 23 to 27.
BUT for that same year, there are 8 people listed at 2 Huguenot Place still in the Borough of Wandsworth and 6 of those 8 including Frank, are identifiable as being at 25 Allfarthing Lane in previous registers.
These 6 including Frank , are still listed at 2 Huguenot Place for the register in force Feb 1965 - Feb 1966
which is the last year I have access to.
Hopefully a death cert/burial record for Frank will confirm his address at the time he died as would a death cert/ burial record for his wife
Why the change of address for everyone in the property? I suppose its possible that maybe due to damage during the war, the building was declared unsafe and they'd finally got round to demolishing it?
You'd need someone more experienced than I with the London area to give an informed opinion on that.

My thanks to the Marquesses Boo and John for expanding my knowledge of Frank Penny and Rose May Jones. Frank Penny, in a family letter (of which I have a copy) to my ancestor Lucy Penny mentions that he had very good lodgings in 1955 at 25 Allfarthing Lane describing himself 'as like one of the family'.
