Hi all, been researching a man on the Nantwich war memorial - Joseph Wheeler who was killed in action on July 25, 1944 aged 20. He worked in the L.M.S. Railways at Crewe and Madeley, but I have no dates or records of his service. Any relatives out there, I would love to contact. Thanks very much for reading, best wishes, Mark.

It also gives his parents names so you can use freebmd to search for his birth which will give his mothers maiden name. That will enable you to look for any siblings
-
2 siblings - 1920 & 1930. You will find they are mentioned on the cwgc entry. The brother only appears to have married in 1970 so you may want to check his details
Brothers middle name was Stanley. There is no death to 2021 so his full details cannot be given in case he is still alive
Use www.192.com - entry to 2012

Thanks very much Carole. I have all his basic details, but very little on his early life, apart from the fact that he went the Market Street (Church of England) School in Nantwich. Best wishes, Mark.

His sister married in 1940 and had 5 children up to 1955 - info available on freebmd as they may still be living
Perhaps tracing them may provide some photos etc

The whole family, Dad, Mum and all 3 children, can be seen on the 1939 register (at least on FindMyPast) so that would indicate they are all deceased.

Hi Mark
You have several threads asking for info about the crew who lost their lives on 25.7.1944.
How do you intend to use any info found?

Thanks very much for info so far. Have gone quite deep into the records available, but unable to locate his employment records in the L.M.S. Mark.
-
Have you tried looking at Newspaper articles for the area where he lived?
