Wondering if any forum members can help. I have come across a reference to a will of Barbara Burt from Norton, dated 1794. May have been her surname from birth or a married name.
As I am now somewhat disabled I find it difficult to get to the WS Record's Office. Wondering if anyone could help with info.
My Burt grandfathers (and Greats) had strong connections to the village and there was also another Burt family in the village which I am struggling to tie to my tree, but suspect that there was a connection as they lived 3 doors away and at one time lived in a relative's house. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Where did you find the reference

But clicking through gets you to…
“ Sorry, this document cannot be ordered.
There are several reasons why documents cannot be ordered. They may be:
in such a poor physical state that looking at them would cause damage
documents containing sensitive personal information about living people
on loan to another institution
known to have existed but never received
temporarily mislaid
most conveniently consulted in another format, such as on microfilm
a collection of files or an object rather than a single file or item that can be consulted in the search room
a library book available on open shelving
In all these circumstances, please ask us a Reader question directly, and we will be happy to help you.
In order to ask us direct questions about specific documents and items, we do need you to use your Reader account, please register with us if you do not yet have one. We would like you to register even if you have no intention of visiting us at the Archive, thank you.”
Have you established Hookleg, that it is able to be viewed onsite?

If the original will can't be accessed, there's probably a register copy that can be. I suggest you contact the record office and ask them to advise. This sort of general enquiry is normally answered free of charge.

I found the info at http://www.dswebhosting.info/Suffolk/SRODServe/dserve.exe?dsqIni=Dserve.ini&dsqApp=Site31&dsqDb=Catalog&dsqCmd=show.tcl&dsqSearch=(RefNo==%27IC500%2F1%2F248%2F38%27)
Which has a list of wills from 1600s onward. It says Access Status Open.
