Hi There,
I've finally come to a stand still, i cant find nothing more of my ancestor of Alice up to the 1911 Census, and im hoping someone out there could please find any record of a possible marriage and death record Alice.
Alice Maud Mary McFarling b.31 Dec 1877 St Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands. the daughter of Charles Francis McFarling and Matilda Isabella Giffard.
Here is Alice on the 1881,1891,1901,1911 UK Censuses
1881, Alice McFarling 3yrs, b.c1878 St Helier, Jersey. (unmarried)
1891, Alice M M McFarling 14yrs, b.c1877 St Helier, Jersey. (unmarried)
1901, Alice McFarling 22yrs, b.c1879 St Helier, Jersey. (unmarried)
1911, Alice MacFarlane 30yrs, b.c1881 St Helier, Jersey. (unmarried)
Any help would be very much appreciated!
Thankyou
Gary

Hi
I have some information which probably won't help. I noticed that in the 1911 census AM was a drapers assistant. There is an Alice MacFarlane contained in the records of A de Gruchy lodged at the Jersey Archive. De Gruchy was, and still is, a store in St Helier.
There are 3 undated letters but 2 from the address contained in the census, so assume it is the same person. The letters suggest AM had been caught pilfering and the one letter was seeking remorse for her actions, the second suggested the store was not going to report her so thanking them and the third, unsigned from another person, was a letter asking for forgiveness.
The tone of the letters suggest she was deeply apologetic for her actions. Being a small community, I suspect she either changed her name (unlikely) or left the island or both.

Could she be buried with her parents if she remained unmarried :-\
I see mother died in 1933 and father in 1925. Burial place St Mark St Helier Jersey.

Their funeral services were held at St Mark's Church but as it does not have a burial ground they are buried in Mont a l'Abbe cemetery. Other MacFarlings in the same grave are William 4/2/1933. Ann 8/1/1911, Charles F 12/2/1949 and Lydia Florence 27/7/1995.

Hi,
Thankyou to all of you helping me with answers on Alice, it sounds like Alice died or left the Island before the Channel Islands Nazi occupation in 1939, so the search goes on.🤔🤗
Regards
Gary

..before the Channel Islands Nazi occupation in 1939..
Just a small point but the occupation started in 1940.
