How can I find out who was living at 52 Earl Road, Old Kent Road in Oct 1905? Or the names of who was at Stephens Place, Tabard Street at the same time?
These are both addresses listed on a Camberwell South death certificate issued 13 Oct 1905.
I would really appreciate any assistance in finding out who was living at either of these addresses at that time if possible?
With much gratitude, Jo :)

Electoral registers don't list everyone in the household, but perhaps you will recognize someone from them:
1905 Electoral Register for 52 Earl Road in Camberwell (heading for all the folks on Earl road written as Earl Road/Upper Grange road SE, so maybe Old Kent road was renamed, or I am looking at the wrong place!)
Carey, Joseph 52 Earl Road
1906 Electoral Register for St. Stephen's Place, Tabard Street
(house number precedes the name)
1 Bulley, Samuel Henry
3 Cullum, William
5 McQuillan, John
5 Baker, Arthur
6 Powell, Samuel
7 Mitchell, George Henry
8 Hall, John William
9 Grant, Arthur
9 Ward, William
10 Curtis, Edward
10 Smith, George Stephen
11 Mitchell, Daniel
11 Bremmer, William
13 King, Thomas
17 Cole, Reuben
17 Brown, Robert
18 Strange, Edward
Laver, Thomas Henry

An old thread re the same subject - not resolved

Additionally
52 Earl Road was multi occupied in the 1901 census, there were three households.
Piece 521 folio 36 pages 11 and 12
Including Joseph Carey with his wife Marian (they had two boarders), probably the main household.
But
Joseph Carey died June qtr 1905, Camberwell, age 69, and was buried at Camberwell Old Cemetery, 19 April.
So Joseph was no longer at 52 Earl Road in October 1905. His wife may have been of course.
1905-1906 electoral register, dated 20 October 1905 has Richard Bardon listed at 52 Earl Road in Division 1 (the other divisions, local voters, lodgers, no one listed)

Within that linked previous thread, is your thread re Mary Barnes Puplett and the death of the child Mary in 1905.

Is this address regarding the death of baby Mary?
-
Joseph Courtenay, 27, labourer, was an occupant of 52 Earl Road, Camberwell, in the autumn of 1906 (South London newspapers, November 1906)

Jo,
Your other threads are old now, so you might have updated your records since.
There is no mention there of Annie Blanche Puplett b 1893.
She is with her mother and siblings in the workhouse in 1897 but I can’t find her after that.
-
Hi Heywood and Jonw65, thank you for your interest, yes, still searching for the elusive Mary (Barnes) Puplett.
The only actual record I have her on is the 1891 census…. the addresses below are from baby Mary’s death certificate. Mother Mary’s occupation is shown as a hawker at St Stephens Place, Tabard Street. (Her father James was recorded as a Hawker on her marriage certificate so I was hoping there might be a link there)… her residence was shown as 52 Earl Road, Old Kent Road….?
I will have a look into Joseph Carey and see if that leads anywhere…. I can’t find her other children either, so was thinking she might be living with someone else and using their name, but baby Mary is registered and baptised as Puplett, so unlikely she is someone else’s?
Thank you both, any other suggestions, inspiration or advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi Heywood, no, I haven’t been able to find Annie Blanche either, not in census, marriage or death records? They are an elusive lot, and I’ve been looking for a very long time…..

There is a baptism of Ada Blanche Puplett, 23 Dec 1896, Camberwell, Sacred Heart
Born 16 May 1893
Parents Thomas James and Mary olim Barnes
Baptized with her siblings John Edward and Samuel George.
Names are Latinized
-
Thank you Jonw65, I had seen that, I always thought it was odd that the three were baptised at that time, particularly as John Edward had already been baptised, the two older siblings Mary and Thomas, were not included. And then John Edward and Samuel are again baptised in October 1904?
Modified to add that the baptisms in 1896 are about 6 months after the death of Mary’s husband Thomas if that is significant?

Do you have the Godparents names? Just wondering if there might be clues there.

Hi
There is only one, shared between all three of them!
Could it be Mia Molini? :-\
-
Mia (if that's right) may be in Weybridge in 1901.Age 54, widow, born Camberwell. A daughter is with her.
Mill Molini on ancestry.
-
Yes, that’s the one I just found and in 1891 477/105 Maria Moline in Peckham.
-
I can’t find Mia prior to 1891?
Modified- just found her and daughter Edith in 1881, no obvious connection at this point… I shall continue looking …🤞🏻
-
She may have been a member of the church -just helping out.
-
Hmmm…I wish I knew, so surprised that I can’t find a peep of any of them other than Thomas and Sam…I was sure that they’d pop up somewhere over the last 15 years…I’ll just keep looking.
Thank you so much for taking an interest, it always helps to have a fresh pair of eyes, and to have a refresh.
Jo :)

How were the two addresses shown on the death certificate?
Was one the informant’s address and the other the place of death?
-
Looking at newspapers of the time it seems that 'Earl Road, Old Kent Road' was often used as an address e.g. from 1905:
George Frederick Spratt, of Earl-road, Old Kent-road, London, was summoned by Dr H. T. Sells of Northfleet, for driving a motor car...recklessly.
and
Rudge-Whitworth path tandem, 23in., Constrictors, good condition, given up racing, photo sent, bargain, £8, seen any time. Bartlett, 34 Earl Road, Old Kent Road (near Dun Cow)
Here is a side-by-side map view showing where Earl Road was and what's there now:

Thank you both, the Old Kent Road address was given as mother Mary’s residence and the Stephens Place address was for her occupation as a Hawker. Mary’s father was listed as a Hawker on her marriage certificate so I thought that might have helped but none of the names on the electoral roll ring a bell. When baby Mary was born her mother Mary was a wardrobe dealer, which I understand is selling second hand clothes, so along the same vein?
I just wish I knew where they all were in 1901 ???
