Title: Hugh Gibney, Esker cemetery, grave
Post by: vinnie1202 on Friday 26 May 23 14:49 BST (UK)
Hi I’m interested in finding the grave of Hugh Gibney, which I believe is in Esker cemetery. I think he died in 1954 and had connections to the Hughes family (cemetery caretakers)

This could be his wife’s death in 1959

There is a newspaper snippet regarding the death of Mary Bridget Gibney, relict of Hugh T Gibney eldest daughter of William and ? Doyle. Is that right? I can’t see any more to see if it mentions the cemetery.

This is from an old thread on here - 2011 so not sure if the details are still the same
Seems to come under South Dublin County Council- phone number on this site:

Thanks Mary Bridget was his wife, but I believe they were estranged by the time of his death. And yes the “Dewie” makes sense as I’d been informed he was known as “uncle dooey”.

I’ve now got some family information about where his grave should be in Esker…..so fingers crossed that is correct and I can find it!
