Title: Anyone having trouble with Findmypast this morning ?
Post by: violetqueen on Tuesday 23 May 23 08:43 BST (UK)
Or is just me ? I'm searching births William Sullivan 1889 Poplar and it's showing "no results found".
Same when I omit location .

If I omit location and dob I get 5 double barreled names .
I'm sure I've found him before .

Same problems with searching for him in census returns ,and I have a copy of him in the 1901 return from previous searches .
Also no joy in marriages when I've previous results .
Oh well ,I've spoken to FindMyPast now and they'll look into it .
Just wondered if it was only me or whether others were having problems .

I don't have a subscription to findmypast, but just tried looking for one of my ancestors and nothing coming up at all for him. Must be something wrong at their end.

I cannot get a result either but that may be due to the fact that according to the GRO Index there wasn't a William Sullivan registered in Poplar in 1889

They have 3 results when searching for William Sullivan Poplar 1889 +/-2 years
William Sep 1888 Poplar 1c 662 mmn Kennedy
William Charles Dec 1891 Poplar 1c 552 mmn Lark
William James Mar 1888 Poplar 1c 699 mmn McCarthy

I cannot get in at all, I just get “Unlock you Family History for free” Start free trial.

I can’t even get to  login, I am a fully paid up member.

All good for me this morning -- I've ran a few searches and all have come up with the expected results. Seems like a random problem.

Something is wrong.
I have just done a search in 'Civil Births' on FindMyPast for Stanley Smith, no other details entered.
I get 47 results, all of them double-barrelled surnames.

I have to log in every day now;  no idea why.  Have emailed FindMyPast (again) for advice.  ::)

Hi Jen - yes that mirrors my experience .I was hopeful that FindMyPast would have got back to me by now ,but they haven't .
Have you raised it with them ?

Jebber - top right next to 'start free trial' have you got the three lines type menu? That offers me log in or sign up. But like nannyjan I haven't been able to predictably stay signed in for ages. (occasionally I am still signed in, so I don't know how long it works for.

Yes genie, but they don’t respond. Now Findmypast won’t load at all. Everything was fine until they  said the site was down for maintenance yesterday.

Seems ok for me, unless it's now sorted (though i too have to log in every time which is a pain). Found quite a few entries for William Sullivan, Poplar, 1889 +/- 1 year, including census in 1891 and 1901 and a possible death in 1935.

hi,seems mostly better .But still odd ,get messages suddenly saying that page isn't responding .And a search brought up 8 matches but also (at top of page) had the "there are no matches "message .
I hadn't realised how dependent I was on trusting in accuracy .Rather damaged now .
