Looking for information on John Atkinson and Selina Templeton marriage
Believe to have daughter Mary Alice Atkinson.
-
Any clues to when and where?
-
Think West Cumberland, Barrow, ulverston
Nothing more definite ??
-
Need more than this to work with.
What do you know about Mary Alice ATKINSON....marriage....children...death....when...where...who?
-
Believe Mary Alice married a Benjamin Smith
Left Barrow in Furness after being married
I'm looking on behalf of a connection in Australia,
-
A birth of Mary A Atkinson Ulverston Q3 1916 mmn Templeton
There is a marriage James M Atkinson/Selina M Templeton reg Ulverston Q3 1914
There is a clue in the 1921 census that these are the correct parents.
-
That's interesting I have a John Moore Atkinson but the marriage doesn't match
I'll need to look back and check it
Thanks for that though!
-
In reference to what was originally found. I also found the same record of Selina marrying a James Atkinson. Here is the record if you want it.
-
Other Atkinson births in Ulverston mmn Templeton after 1914
Edward K Q1 1915 (died 1915)
Marjorie E Q1 1918

Are you researching the origins of John Moore ATKINSON...who died....Australia?
-
1939 register
Barrow-in-Furness
Benjamin Smith
Mary A Smith 19/7/1916
plus one closed record
Mary A's birthdate matches Mary Alice Atkinson Q3 1916 mmn Templeton, and also precisely matches the 1921 census age for the daughter of James Atkinson
-
This is all good news ,seems to tie in with what we know.
Thanks a lot

Don't have a lot of information on John Moore Atkinson after his marriage to a Beatrice Hill
Would be glad to know more if this is him that died in Australia
-
I can see no evidence that the husband of Beatrice Hill had middle name Moore, assuming that I have found the correct marriage:
marriage 22/8/1912 Bolton
John Atkinson 25 (1887) electrical engineer
father John Thomas Atkinson, licensed victualler
Beatrice Hill 25 (1887)
father Henry Hill, mill manager
witnesses Thomas Gerrard Atkinson, Clara Isobel Hill
The family is in Bolton in the 1921 census.
In the 1939 register Beatrice Atkinson is a widow living in Lytham St Annes with her two daughters, aged 22 and 18.
there is a burial record at billiongraves.com
John, beloved husband of Beatrice Atkinson, died 14th September 1924 age 46 (1888)
one of the other burials in the grave is Thomas Gerrard Atkinson d 1915 (see witnesses)
Lots of info on this gravestone if you are interested in this family.
