Hello all,
I am the family historian for the ESSE family UK to Australia - I have a lady "Mollie Magdalene Ware"
who married my Ancestor Richard Gordon Esse in Sydney in 1922. There is some discrepancy about her birth year and I was hoping someone on this forum could help.
I understand that Mollie Magdalene Ware was born about 1900 in Dublin and that is all the information I have about her except from when she married Richard - have quite a lot from their marriage.
Is there a website/facility that I can search for her birth details and her parents.
Any help will be most appreciated.
Thanks and regards,
Di Maloney

Have you tried searching for her on the IrishGenealogy website https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp which is free.
The 1901 and 1911 Irish censuses are also available to search.
See http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/

Thank you Kiltaglassan,
I am new at researching Irish family info and really need all the help this old bird can get.
Will try them now.
Cheers,
Di

Oh well, I tried looking for Mollie Ware but kept getting births for someone with the name of Weir and even an O'Kane.
I know that there will be variations on the surname so will try somewhere else.
Cheers,

Just how difficult is it for OP to search for this herself, having been pointed to the website?
Looking on the Irish Genealogy website between 1895 and 1905, there is only one matching Mary Weir, with father John, in Dublin SRDs, in 1897. Took all of maybe 2 minutes.
There is also a Margaret Weir in Rathdown SRD, in 1903.

That Mary in 1897, father John, has given names of Mary Harriet, so not sure that's a match.

Life is full of uncertainties....

On the other post, I've told the OP to get the marriage record and go from there. No sense guessing.

Sure. But my point is that it wouldn't take much effort for OP to line up some ducks from this end.

Dear all,
Thank you for your posts - I truly am trying my best. I have now been in touch with one of her grandchildren so holefully things will move on a bit faster now, whether it be good news or bad, at least I now have a contact for the family.
Thanks all.
Cheers,
Di

She may have been given/taken the name of Magdalene at the time of her first communion. Her Saints day is 22/7 so it may be a family connection or around the date she was confirmed.
Molly/Mollie is a diminutive for the name Mary.

Molly (also spelled Molli or Mollie) is a diminutive of the feminine name Mary. It may less commonly be used as a diminutive for feminine names that begin with M, such as Margaret, Martha, Martina or Melinda.

From her death information her father's name was John, no mother mentioned..
