Title: Elizabeth Fullerton - b.1734 - Penshaw?
Post by: Emsworthy on Friday 14 April 23 22:02 BST (UK)
Dear all,

I have Elizabeth Fullerton in my tree, my 6xGt Grandmother, who died on 13th June 1804 and was buried at All Saints, Penshaw.  The burial record states she was 'of Shiney Row' and was 70 years old.

She married John Dixon on 15th May 1758 at the same church - both were 'of this chapelry'.

Is anyone able to find a birth for Elizabeth?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi, a quick look turns up her burial and marriage records on Findmypast. DRO, has the burial. But on the image of her burial in 1804, it seems to show Dickson was of Houghton Parish?
It may be worth looking around there. The records of Penshaw are really iffy from what I understand prior to 1754.

i know you have the burial  but funny that the pre 1881 MI's book for Penshaw churchyard does not contain Elizabeths burial   various other Dixons.  ??

Buried there but does not always mean there is a headstone, or maybe a headstone but not legible.
