Title: Cregan? Creaghan? or Craven?
Post by: msbonbon65 on Thursday 30 March 23 23:03 BST (UK)
Hi Everyone,

I have the marriage record for my 3rd Great Grandparents Malachi Crowe and Margaret Cregan marriage took place on 19 Jan 1831 Rathfarnham, Dublin, Ireland. I also have the baptisms for their children on the baptism for their daughter Margaret Maria Crowe 2 July 1841 the parents are listed as Malachi Crowe and Margaret CRAVEN. I found out they were buried in Glasnevin Cemtery and there were other family members buried there as well, several of the family members had the last name of CRAVEN; so now I am puzzled as to whether my 3rd Great Grandmother is Margaret Cregan? old Irish spelling CREAGHAN, or Margaret Craven? Does anyone know if Craven is a variation of Creaghan?? Any information you can provide will be appreciated!

Maria

Doesn't appear to be according to John Grenham.
