Title: Fisher of Garvagh
Post by: Gortinanima on Saturday 18 March 23 15:00 GMT (UK)
A headstone in Garvagh 1st Presbyterian reads

Margaret, wife or Robert Fisher of Churchill and mother of Archibald Fisher, died 20 Sept 1847, aged 85 years.

I am interested in the Robert Fisher of Churchill (his dates are not noted on the headstone)

Thanks in advance.

Going through old files to discard and found a bit more about Robert Fisher.

John Fisher, Londonderry, from Scotland 1650.
1. Daniel Fisher.
2. James Fisher, Glendermott.
     1. Robert Fisher, Garvagh, m. Mary daughter of Rev. John Harvey. These are the parents of Archibald Fisher of Churchill.

From T.12226/1 (PRONI) "Pedigree given me August 1952 by Dame Dehra Parker. Pedigree was compiled by Henry Taylor." Dame Dehra Parker was the daughter of James Kerr Fisher & Annie Mary Forsythe. Lots of details in file and notes also say there is a Forsythe pedigree in PRONI.
