Hi. Help please
Arthur foden born 1876 in Congleton cheshire(as per census1911)
Shows wide Eliza
I believe marriage might be 1896.
Can anyone see the actual certificate showing both fathers
Thanks
-
If they had children you can look up their birth registrations which should show mothers maiden name.
The 1911 census should have numbers of years married - is this where 1896 comes from?
-
Can't see the details without ordering the certificate but this is likely the marriage registration.

Think I found one somewhere
Showing Arthur foden to a Eliza berrisford in 1896 in congleton
Although eldest child Emma born in 1897 (14 in 1911) is born in bulwell
-
They had a lot of children? If you work through the list of their birth registrations (on the General Register Office website) you can find mothers maiden name.
There was an Emma with mothers maiden name Goodyer to match that marriage but you need to check the other births as well to confirm they all match.

Agnes Foden Dec 1898 Basford has mothers name as Goodson
Maud Elizabeth Foden Jun 1900 Nottingham has mothers name Goodyer
Eliza Ann Dec 1901 Nottingham has Goodyer
so if these are the right children I think Goodyer is the mother :)

Eliza Goodyer was born in Mountsorrel in 1877 (birth reg -Goodyear on GRO - Barrow on Soar district), mmn Copson. In 1881 she was in Mountsorrel with parents Williiam Goodyer (33), born Lutterworth, Leics. and Ann (29), born Cosby.

Hi
Believe I’ve now got info that Arthur father Henry Fidel married to Eliza Leonard
Have a census 1881 showing Henry and Eliza (Leonard) and son Arthur aged 4
Can anyone find anything else please
-
What sites are you looking on?
Which part of the family are you wanting information on - Arthur's parents?
Arthur father Henry Fidel married to Eliza Leonard
Is Fidel a middle name :-\

His marriage to Eliza Leonard gives his father as Henry Foden a Cotton Worker.
His birth in 1854 has mmn Astles.
Phebe Foden was a witness. Her birth (as Phoebe) has her mmn as Astles.
I think Hnery Foden married Mary Harvey in Congleton in 1848.
Previously, as Mary Astles, she married George Harvey in 1838, and had a son John in 1844, baptised on 19th October 1845 in Congleton, although no father's name.
