Hi all, I will insert two little snips of my gr grandfathers 1809 birth and a possible sister in 1828. 1809 says his father Charles is a weaver of ? The possible sister in 1828 he is a gardener of ?
I am not sure of the 5 children if the parents are the same Charles Mcdonald and Catherine Ross. The twins were born 17809, next son 1817, then daughters 1821 and 1828. My gr grandfather Donalds parents are my brick wall but all evidence seems to point to them.

Hi,
I don't think it is weaver "of", or gardener "of", but weaver at the (Ord?), and gardener at the ...no clue!
Where would this be, geographically speaking?

It would help if we knew where this took place Craig.

The second entry could be gardener at the Ness??

Apologies all. Rosskeen Ross and Cromarty is the location of these births.

I wonder if this is relevant re the Ord that bbart suggested https://canmore.org.uk/site/106347/wester-ord

It's on FindMyPast.
William Macdonald
Born 7.6.1828
Bapt.15.6.1828
I notice there is no birth date for Willina. Perhaps it's transcribed incorrectly and they are the same person or possibly twins?

Middlesbrough - the 2nd image I attached shows 'Willina daughter' and on the 2nd line 'born 7th and baptished 15th June'. The year was 1828.

Hi again - yes i believe it is mis-transcribed. Quite badly so as it clearly says ‘daughter’ and there is no ‘m’. Looks like Willina to me. One reason i never rely on transcriptions. Best to use our owneyes ona copy of the real document.

Agree with gardener at the Ness...
