Hi all
Looking to understand the parish records of Snainton and Brompton by Sawdon. I have a Mary Baker daughter of John Baker born Jan 25, 1773 in the Snainton records and a Mary Baker, daughter of John Baker, Snainton, baptized Feb 21 1773 in the Brompton records. Are these likely the same person?
Why are some of the Snainton record "born" and some "baptized"?
Thanks for any help,
Linda from Canada

Looking at the registers, I would hazard a guess that they are the same child.
If you look at the Snainton register then all the entries for 1773, and earlier, give a date of BIRTH only. And when you look at the Brompton records there are a large number of Snainton residences in the baptisms. Perhaps there was a good reason why this happened - perhaps no vicar at Snainton at this time :-\
