There's article in The Workingman's Advocate, Philadelphia, PA 26/07/1873 (page 4) which is a letter sent to the paper from a miner in Nvesville, Rockville Parke County, Indiana. In it he refers to a previous letter he has sent. I've tried various different search terms but can't seem to find anything, although I realise it possible his previous letter was never published.
Can anyone see anything?
Thanks
Jay

Does the miner have a name? (It might make it easier for us to search. ;) ) Although perhaps from the wording of your question the correspondent was simply "a miner".
Modified to add:
Ok, found the article you refer to, signed "a MINER".
Mentions the Sand Creek coal Company's agents in his previous letter.

Yes he was just referred to as 'a miner'. I'll see if I can attached a copy of the article.

Edited - not sure what I uploaded was readable so have removed it.

There is this letter from MINER about the same issue, written the previous month. Published 28 June 1873 in the Workingman's Advocate, pg2
Possibly his handwriting was unclear and it is meant to be "Nyesville" not "Maysville"

That must be it, thank you so much.

You're welcome Jay, it's fun taking advantage of the "free weekend" on newspapers.com in between looking up my own family. ;D
