I am trying to find any information on Robert Atchison Carruthers. I have a marriage to Hannah Rigg in Liverpool March 1848. Occupation Mariner. Fathers Name Robert Carruthers also a Mariner.
Their second daughter born in 1856 has him as deceased. The only Robert Carruthers death Certificate from Liverpool around that time is for a 12 year old boy.

There is a "free weekend" on newspapers.com this weekend - you can see an article about this event:
The Bradford Observer
Thursday, May 05, 1853
It says the captain and 5 others were rescued whilst 12 died.
So possibly not "your" CARRUTHERS. :-\

Robert Carruthers b1835 "
If Robert was born 1835, he was pretty young to marry in 1848.

Where were the children born? I don't see any CARRUTHERS (or similar) children born 1856 with mothers maiden name RIGG?
Jane CARRUTHERS Mar qtr 1852 Liverpool, mmn RIGG
William Thomas CARRUTHERS Sep qtr 1853 Liverpool, mmn RIGG
When you say "Their second daughter born in 1856 has him as deceased. " do you mean at her birth, or later on her marriage?
Modified to add:
Was daughter Hannah born in Wrexham? Mar qtr 1856, mmn WRIGG.

Hi Thanks. Yes this is the second daughter b. Wrexham I have her birth certificate with Robert as deceased.
Her mother Hannah did marry again a Hugh McQueen in 1859 but it didn't last as in 1871 she was back to the name Carruthers.
Thanks

The image of the marriage of Robert to Hannah shows married on March 13th 1848. Robert is full age, Hannah is under age.
If Robert was the minimum of 21 in 1848 this gives a birth year of 1827. He may have been older so born before 1827.
There are some Merchant Seaman records for Robert Carruthers.
