Having stared at the picture that you all worked on for Me.
I am now trying to decide if the older gentleman with His sons,
is the same man , what do you think.
if so it is Charles Louis Auguste Sonet,
born 1860 Mandeurs, France.
His sons where born in Martinique, in 1890 and 1892,
He then went back to France with their Mother , who's family stretches back on Martinique,
they married in Soissons , France in 1897.
Eilleen.
-
I would say it's highly likely that they are the same man.
Carol
-
Carol,
Thank you for your input ,x
I felt they were the same man , especially with the dates .

Eilleen.
-
Thank you all for your time and effort,
they are all amazing.
Eilleen.
-
Is there something written on the back?
-
The only thing on the reverse is the surname , Sonet .
Eilleen.
-
The answer I had from a connoisseur is :
Probably before 1910
a gunner
4e Bataillon d'Artillerie de Forteresse (ou 4e Bataillon d'Artillerie à Pied) ,
or 4e Régiment d'Artillerie
or 4e Compagnie d'Ouvriers d'Artillerie
I think it is the boy on the right on the photograph with the father and sons ((Pierre Alexandre?)( the ears seems to match but not those of the boy on the left , nor the father's, and the frontal golfs of the hair too)
gunner could match "brigadier de tir" on Pierre's fiche matricule but there is no trace of a 4 th regiment in the list of the regiments he integrated
Added: I finally think he is Alphonse Guinet , who integrated the 4th regiment of artillery in 1895
.
-
Is Sonet written on the back of the picture itself or the back of the cardboard frame?
-
joger
Thank you for your time,
I am now going to have to get My head around all that .
I know it is not Alphonse Guinet , His Father looks nothing at all like the Gentleman with the two boys.
and He lived His life in Prety, France on the farm .

These are the three different ages of what I think are
Charles Louis Auguste Sonet
birth 1860– Mandeure , Doubs, Franche-Comté, France
death Unknown.
Eilleen.
-
If you think that he is charles louis auguste Sonet you have one more possibility for his death ( photographer was Working in Vichy)
-
Concerning Pierre Alexandre Sonet ´s death , st germain en laye hasn't got it ( in spite of the marginal mention on his birth certificate) , but you also have a mention of his death in Sartrouville 1967 somewhere in one of your posts ( and a card with his address in Sartrouville ) . Have you asked in Sartrouville for his death certificate?
Am I wrong?
-
Thank you again joger.
Pierre Alexandre Sonet research is going well. We have His death and went to His family plot.
It is His Father Charles Louis Auguste Sonet, that I am now trying to find military and death i
information on .
