I am trying to find information on Sophia Janetta Anderson b 1847 to Jemima (nee)Fowler and William Henry Anderson. She was listed on the 1851 census as a 3 year old living at 5 Aberdeen Place Marylebone and in 1861 she is listed as a 13 year old scholar, visitor at the residence of James and Annie Postlewaite (sp?) and large family, still in Marylebone. I have information that her mother Jemima - (daughter of James Fowler and Sophia Wood) died in 1859 .We have lost track of her after this as by the next census she had probably married. No Marriage or death certs have been located as yet. There is a lot of information re some of Jemima's, Fowler family, however not a lot about her. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

MARRIAGES
At Radderty House, Ross-shire, on the 14th current, William Henry Anderson, Esq, London to Miss Jemima Fowler, daughter of the late James Fowler, of Radderty.
Note - the newspapers refer to "Radderty" but checking old maps it would appear to be "Raddery". Also the 1841 Census has "Raddery".

Thank you every one for your responses so far.
We have William Henry Anderson's family history once he married his second wife Mary Ann Wood Whitehead in 1862, in Sydney. William Henry was my great, great grandfather through his daughter Emily Augusta Wood Anderson (b.26/11/56 d.1928). William Henry Anderson arrived in Sydney on the 'Cyclone' 15/5/1854 as the only passenger. Though listed as a Sea Captain, a newspaper report (1853) has him as a 'supercargo'. Why he came to Australia is unknown. Did he just not return to London after delivering his shipment? William Henry Anderson did not marry Mary Ann Wood Whitehead until 1862. Somewhere in my searching (can't find the reference at the moment) I recorded that Jemima Anderson died in 1859. Can anyone confirm this?
I am still searching for any records of Sophia Anderson (Fowler) b. 1847 after the 1861 census. The closest I've come to a marriage, that would fit the timeline in anyway, is a marriage to Alexander Ridell in 1861 but have not found proof that this is correct.
The census record for 1871 Cranes Cottage could not be our William as, by this time he was living in Sydney. The 'Anderson Family Tree' has been researched and can be followed from 1597. As with many families it becomes rather complex and confusing with all the names being repeated. There are still some gaps to be filled and the Jemima Fowler union is one that I would really like to solve. Along with the allusive Crawford Allen b. 9/5/1855 at Caramana, County Galway, Ireland.
Thank you once again l your help so far in my search.

"Though listed as a Sea Captain, a newspaper report (1853) has him as a 'supercargo'"
Can you identify where you see him listed as sea captain, and also the 1853 newspaper item.
Father of Sophia, baptised 1848, is a gentleman on Ancestry BDM London website.
William Henry ANDERSON, died 1873, Sydney, has death notice but no mention of occupation.
Can you please list all the information on the marriage certificate, 1862, Sydney,
and....the death certificate, 1873, Sydney.

That marriage was 1871. This Sophia Anderson was born c1851 and was in various census born Newhills, Aberdeenshire, so we can forget her.

John, I was just reviewing the posts, and in your Reply #8, you found Jemima's burial/death record image, so I was slow to the race!
I have no idea of where you found that info, but would Sophia's info be there as well?

How very, very, ..sad. Poor child.
If you got that from SP and used credits, I owe you one.

Is this your William Henry ANDERSON?
Sydney Morning Herald 15 Jul 1868
https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/13169433?
Rev James MILNE, Paddington, would thankfully receive any information respecting Mr.
William Henry ANDERSON, native of Rosshire. Last accounts of him, August, 1865, when he was near
Sydney or Melbourne, and then scarcely expected to live.

Had to look this up re "supercargo"
The duties of a supercargo are defined by admiralty law and include managing the cargo owner's trade, selling the merchandise in ports to which the vessel is sailing, and buying and receiving goods to be carried on the return voyage.

Thanks John and bbart. It’s all very sad but it is good to know that all found.
Well done both of you. :)

With John's mention that Jemima was buried at the Fortrose Cathedral, there is this entry for her family www.findagrave.com/memorial/155718186/james-fowler
Nothing for Jemima and daughter Sophia showing on the listing.
Jemima's ancestry is interesting but not sure how much you want to delve in to this, if at all.
