Does anyone have any info/pics of Shottstown please? My two great grandfathers were born there

Here it is, just north of Penicuik.

Here are two snippets from "The annals of Penicuik; being a history of the parish and of the village" by John James Wilson. 1891.
The date of 1875 for the origin of the village is consistent with the fact that a search for Shottstown in the British Newspaper Archive yields hits beginning in 1877.
There is a WP page for Shotts Iron Works but it doesn't mention Shottstown.

The only Shottstown photo I could spot was the washerwomen operating a mangle - but you already have this from an earlier thread (2008/10). Else, only picking up Penicuick old photos

There is a good historical society in Penicuik with a wealth of material and information. The website which also has contact details is penicuikheritage.org.uk/penicuik-historical-society-2/
I'm sure they could help.
