Hi wonder if anyone could help with a look up for Jesse Bray born 1917 in Prescot Lancashire, Married Margaret L Granger in 1938 Lambeth, Think I have found Margaret in Brombly kent occupation Daily Maid on the 1939 register but can find no trace of Husband Jesse Bray? He died in April 2001 Oxford Trying to fill in the missing years and what his occupation might have been etc..
Thank you in advance as always for any info you might be able to supply..

Apologies, but we are not supposed to do look-ups in the 1939 Register.
ADDED:
Only a thought - could Jesse have been in the Armed Forces? He would have been about 22 :-\ :-\

I've just been looking through the forces records but so far nothing found.
So far, I've found his birth, marriage and death but nothing in between ???

Piggybacking onto Bumble B's comment about the Armed Forces...
I found a death record for a Jesse Bray in 2001, which gave his birth date as 26/03/1917. I then found an enlistment record for a Jesse Bray (with this same birth date) from 1935. He was in the Scots Guards. His trade upon enlistment was engine driver. However, it says he was 'home' between 01/09/1939 and 12/08/1943, so I'm not sure why he cannot be found on the 1939 register. He was released to Class 'Z' Royal Army Reserve on 17/07/1947 and discharged on completion of engagement.
Queenie :)
EDIT: This is definitely the correct Jesse, as his wife, Margaret Granger, is mentioned on his service record.

Ah, but, Queenie - "Home" just probably means that he is NOT overseas, but in Barracks in the UK :-\ And as far as I am aware they were not included in the 1939 Register

Okay, so that could explain it.

wow! Thank you for service information..Explains a few things, and also apologies for request did not realize you could not look up 1939 register..
Can anyone help with a death for Margaret, or is this restricted too..?
Thank again..

Possibly 22 March 2010 in London. This entry ties in with the 1939 Register entry showing a birth date of 26 August 1917 - Margaret Lillian Bray.
