My ancestor, William Griggs, died in the Grenadier Guards Hospital in Westminster in 1849. I have his death record. He was 39. In 1841 he married Mary Muttart in Toronto and there is a lovely record of the birth of their daughter Louisa born in the Anglian Garrison in Quebec in 1842 and further confirmation that William was in the Grenedier Guards.
William was married earlier to Emma Wratten in 1837 in Paddington
I am seeking your advice on how I can locaate William's military record and his marriage (and birth record in Toronto 1820) with Mary, please?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks, Tony

Here's a bit more
Other children with Emma -possibly Emma Wratton bapt 9 Dec 1835 at St Marylebone ,William a servant Northumberland St.Charles born 21 June 1840 Ely Place St George Southwark ,father in Guards.
It looks like Emma left William for a Wilfred Shimmings also of the Grenedier Guards 1814-1887.
Emma didn't die till 1901 if so.
But back to Mary Muttart she remarried in London at St James Westminster 19 March 1866

Thank you
I figured out your post and updated my reply
Emma's daughter Emma bap 1835 as you suggest
Emma Wratten bap 5 May 1811, Sandhurst; died 1901. After William died in 1849 she remarried Wilfred in 1856. Interesting he was in the Grenadier Guards
Agree Mary married James Thornton in 1866 aand migrated to Melbourne. They are buried together
Thank you very much
